On the manufacturing side, requirements for how companies identify the different features of an item (such as the shapes and size of a part or completion product) on the production line can make it easier for business to leverage algorithms from one factory to another, without needing to undergo costly retraining efforts.
Patent protections. Traditionally, in China, new developments are quickly folded into the general public domain, making it tough for enterprise-software and AI gamers to realize a return on their substantial financial investment. In our experience, patent laws that secure intellectual property can increase investors' self-confidence and draw in more investment in this area.
AI has the potential to improve key sectors in China. However, among business domains in these sectors with the most valuable usage cases, there is no low-hanging fruit where AI can be carried out with little extra investment. Rather, our research study finds that unlocking optimal capacity of this chance will be possible only with tactical investments and developments throughout numerous dimensions-with data, talent, innovation, and market collaboration being primary. Working together, enterprises, AI players, and federal government can resolve these conditions and allow China to capture the amount at stake.
